About me

Hello, welcome to my humble Singapore food & cooking blog. I’m Sharon Lam (Sharon Kay), a mummy of 2 beautiful and cheeky daughters, wife of a wonderful husband, and a counsellor by trade. My family and I live in Yummy Sunny Singapore, also known as a foodie’s paradise.

Cooking is an avenue for me to be creative, be adventurous, and at the same time practise mindfulness. It is Creativity that Nourishes the body, mind, and soul. My passion for food developed in my secondary school years. Home Econs was the only lesson I look forward to as cooking brought me so much joy.

I learned that food was the catalyst for bringing people together, it helps create opportunities to forge relationships, and sometimes mend one. I truly believe that a family that dines together stays together, researchers have backed up that claim in a few published pieces of research.

The benefit of a recipe blogger is that I’m constantly looking for or enjoying newly created recipes that are simple and quick to prepare. It comes with a price as well, because I’m constantly hungry when I work on my blog.

Due to the fact that I have a day job, and have 2 young children, I understand how tough it can be (especially in time-starved Singapore) to find pockets of time to cook and bake for the family. Therefore, this cooking blog was created with 3 goals in mind. 1) to document my many kitchen experiments so that it can be replicated again 2) to be able to share those recipes with interested home-cooks like yourself 3) to advocate for healthier family meals and promote family dining with easy to follow recipes.

When it comes to cooking, I like experimenting with fusion food. I love spices, loads of it, and I love anything Thai as well. My style of cooking was influenced by my husband. Eating rice and Asian dishes on a daily basis was challenging for him, and there I can’t eat pasta and potatoes every day, no matter how much I love that man. So a good compromise was to create a fusion of the dishes I like with something he would enjoy or vice verse. I try to make my dishes with healthier alternatives whenever possible. I hardly (if ever) choose to deep-fry as a cooking technique, I prefer baking instead just to cut down on the extra grease and cleaning. Cooking is not all that difficult, the smiles and appreciation from your loved ones will make all the effort worthwhile. 🙂

Enjoy your stay here!

Deliciously Yours,
Sharon of Delishar

Hi Roberto! It’s so nice to hear from you! I worked in OZ for a couple of years in my early 20s, and we are planning a trip with the kids to see the great outback. Welcome to my site, and I hope you’ll find some recipes that you’d like. 🙂
