Sea Salt Chocolate Brownie

Makes 9 large brownies
Servings: 9

Ingredients
  

  • 345 g semisweet chocolate chips 12oz
  • 170 g unsalted butter cut into pieces (1 1/2 stick)
  • 170 g granulated sugar 3/4 cups
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 94 g all-purpose flour 3/4 cup
  • sea salt flakes to sprinkle on top

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 175*C.
  2. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with foil.
  3. Spray with cooking spray or grease foil.
  4. Combine the chocolate chips and butter into a large microwave safe bowl.
  5. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute then stir.
  6. Continue heating in 30-second bursts.
  7. Stirring between each burst, until mixture is melted and smooth.
  8. Please be careful not to scorch it.
  9. Let cool slightly.
  10. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and thick.
  11. Add in the vanilla extract, and beat.
  12. Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture with a rubber spatula.
  13. Then gently fold in flour until combined.
  14. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  15. Sprinkle a little sea salt flakes on the top of the batter.
  16. Do not over salt it!
  17. Bake 35 minutes or until skewers has a few moist crumbs when inserted.
  18. Do not over-bake.
  19. Let cool to room temperature before slicing.
  20. Sprinkle a touch more sea salt of desired.
