I saw a video on this dish somewhere… I’m not sure if it was online or on TV. This is one of the first western dish I made for my hubby. A super simple, short cut method for making the traditional Parmesan chicken. Honestly, this is an awesome casserole for beginner/new cook to make. It’s so simple, and so straight forward, you can hardly screw it up.
Ingredients (Serves 3-4)
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
- 1 bottle pasta sauce
- 350g chicken tenders
- 1 pack of Italian Seasoned Croutons
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp crush red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
- Salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 180C.
Spread EVOO, garlic, red pepper, and chopped basil on the base.
Lay out the chicken tenders evenly, then season with a little salt and pepper.
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese.
Pour pasta sauce on top to cover chicken.
Top with croutons.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake for about 25 – 30mins or until chicken is done, and cheese slightly browned.
Allow to cool for 10 mins before cutting into it.
Serve with side salad.
Bon appetit!!
