Easy caramel sauce for lazy people like me! LOL! I know there are very specific techniques in making good caramel sauce… it usually involve a thermometer and I do not have it… nor do I have corn syrup. Neither do I have the patience. So this method worked out well, as it uses very basic ingredients. Taste great too!
Ingredients (makes about 1.5 cups)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 heaping tablespoon corn flour/starch
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
Dissolve corn flour in the heavy cream.
Melt butter and sugar in a sauce pan on low heat. Stirring to combine.
Add heavy cream mixture and salt.
Continue mixing with a whisk.
Until everything is dissolved and sauce thickens.
Transfer into a container and let it cool before chilling.
The consistency will thicken as it cools.
I used it for my Caramel Macarons and in my Salted Caramel Stuffed Rich Fudgy Brownies.
Bon appetit!!
