Honey Ginger Chicken

If you like sweet caramelized glaze, this recipe is a go to! It’s simple and very very yummy! Pairs very well with white rice too. It has that salty, sticky, sweet  flavour… yet a very refreshing end note with the freshly grated ginger. I’m salivating just by trying to describe the flavour profile! Try it, and I bet that you will like it!

Add all the ingredients together and marinate for 30 mins.

Heat pan on med high with 1 tbsp canola oil.
Brown chicken. Reserve the marinade sauce for later.

Set aside.
Lower heat.
Pour marinate sauce in pan and bring to boil.
It will start to thicken very quickly.

Turn off heat.
Pour in cooked chicken and toss to coat.

Garnish with chopped scallions and serve.

Ingredients (Serves 2-3)

  • 2 small chicken breast, about 250g (Or chicken thighs if you like it a little more tender)
  • 1 tbsp shao xing wine/chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 heaping tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • dash of white pepper
  • 1 tbsp canola oil

    Hi, this chicken looks yummy 🙂 But I don't know where to find chinese wine in my country (Poland). What can I use instead ?

      Hi there! You can use Sherry, Japanese Sake, or omit it altogether. 🙂
